We would like to thank the following referees who have checked individual entries. Their detailed knowledge of research on specific allergenic foods has helped us find significant additional information and also greatly improved the clarity of the presentations.

In addition, the design of the database was influenced by general comments on the format of the entries from the project partners Rene Crevel, Steve Gendel , Phil Goodwin and Charlotte Madsen as well as from several of the referees.

The entries in this release for the allergenic foods abalone, almond, cashew nut, chickpea, coconut, linseed, oyster, peach, pine nuts, squid, strawberry, sunflower seed and walnut must be considered less reliable because the refereeing process has not yet been completed for these entries. Also note that the entries on foods from plants were completed and checked near the end of 2004 and those from animals near the end of 2005. Thus recent data may be omitted.
